My 8-year old nephew likes to hike/camp with his dad and was excited to see this as a gift (when we went on a cruise together), but he was quite disappointed when he figured out that the compass doesn’t really work (it moves, but it doesn’t consistently point to North!).

We’re sorry the compass is not very accurate & it’s actually more of a plaything. We will update our product description to indicate that.
