These little chips are very cute, but very small. They are roughly as wide across at the middle as a quarter. I’m not sure that most kids would recognize them as chips if it weren’t for the tin, (which, by the way is adorable, with its picture of a band of chips marching across it!) since chips have more shape to them. Without the tin, they look like little cartoony moons.

Very Nice Chips

These little chips are scaled in a size relative to other wooden play foods. In the style of a Pringle sort of chip, they stack into the (absolutely adorable) tin. They are, of course, quite thick relative to their width, which is to be expected since they would otherwise splinter apart and be a total danger. There are 18 chips total – plenty to go around. And, like all other Haba toys, they have that trademark perfect smooth satin finish.

All in all, I’m very pleased with them, but would advise that they could definitely still pose a choking risk, as they are quite small.
