These fruits and veggies are so aesthetically pleasing – colourful, smooth, and super cute! I especially like the little bumps at the ends of the lemon and all the green elastic stems. My son really enjoys cutting the fruits and veggies apart. Sometimes we make a game of mismatching the different halves and making up “new” fruits & veggies.

Nice Veggie & Fruit Set

I’m quite pleased with this addition to our children’s kitchen set.

The one thing I wish I’d been able to locate before purchasing these was the size of each individual piece, so I took the time and measured in case someone else wants to know.

The tray is about 7.5″ × 10.5″
The (uncut) foods are as follows:
apple: 1.8″ × 2″
lemon: 2″ × 1.2″
banana: 3.25″ × .8″ (at widest point)
pear: 2.5″ × 1.8″
orange: 1.8″ × 1.8″
mushroom: 1.5″ × 1.25″
carrot: 3.5″ × .8″
cucumber: 3″ × 1″

The pieces that strike me as definite choking risks are the carrot, lemon, cucumber and possibly the mushroom. The apple, pear and orange would probably be fine for any age child.

Last, it seems worth mentioning that the velcro could have been applied more effectively. I had to give the soft side of the velcro a “haircut” just so the pieces would fit snugly against one another rather than sort of dangle and look ridiculous. Thankfully, this was a suitable solution, but it seems the velcro could have been more deeply seated, or of a higher quality or something of this sort.

All in all, with so few truly safe play food options out there, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this one again.

Fun! A great addition to my daughter's play kitchen

My daughter is always envious that the adults at the table have knives, but she can’t touch ours. This set has been great for her to play with a “knife” in a safe and fun way. The velco makes a very satisfying noise when she “chops” the fruit in half. She is almost 2 and still needs a little help to play with this set, but I think this is a good toy for practicing her hand skills.

Fruits and veggies-Baby approved!

My 2 year-old granddaughter LOVED these fruits and veggies. The colors are bright and attractive, the shapes were easily recognized. The fruits and veggies on the tray were great for playing at having lunch together, and they make a great puzzle which is also useful for teaching colors. Motor skills are enhanced as baby learns to use the wooden knife. A great toy!

If you have a kid that is obsessed with food this is the angel of your eye instead of having them bring the whole kitchen to you and you having asked for jam on your bread him bring it to you and saying “It to hard!” He can bring the tray!
Good heavens he’s bring the kitchen to me got to go!
