Cute, but doesn't do much.
written 3 months agoAlthough this is a very cute toy, my daughter isn’t particularly interested in it because it doesn’t offer much play fun. It makes an ordinary sort of noise (much like hitting 2 sticks together), and that’s about it. If music is playing, you can barely hear the noise the guiro makes, so it’s not even really good for playing along with children’s songs.
More fun as a grasping toy than as a musical instrument!
written 12 months agoI really love the concept of this toy but I must admit that this toy is not as great as I thought it would be. It is visually stimulating for babies (they seem to be really attracted to the wings & eyes) but the sound that it makes isn’t that loud or interesting in the least. I do like the fact that it comes with the string (so you don’t need to worry about losing the stick). For the price it is a great toy but musically speaking it needs improving.

written over 1 year agoSmall but really adorable, little ones love anything that makes noise. This has the advantage of also being a fun toy for playing make believe with little dragonfly stories. Since my little ones put everything in their mouths, I am grateful for the non-toxic colorful painting.
Very cute, but hard to use.
written over 1 year agoThis little dragonfly is absolutely adorable. It is very small though, especially the little ridges on the back for rubbing with the stick. The ridged part is only an inch long so it doesn’t make as good a sound as longer guiros. The string is also really short and hard for children to manipulate. My little ones really only tap the dragonfly with the stick, which they enjoy briefly. If you want it for cuteness, I’d recommend, but if you’re buying for musical instrument value, I’d look for something else…

written over 1 year agoAdorable toy! Note the size in the description – it is small and only suited for little hands. The noise is mostly a wood on wood sound, with a little scratch thrown in. Not fancy, but a good price and very cute.
Adorable Instrument
written over 1 year agoAlthough my 10 month old hasn’t quite grasped the concept of playing the guiro, this is one of her favorite baby instruments. She loves putting this little guy in her mouth and the paint has stayed perfect. It’s also just the right size for her little hands to grasp and hold on to.
