The Scale is Wrong; Peas Seem Like a Choking Hazard

written 10 months ago

We own a lot of Haba play food, and expected small when ordering this set. The 8 carrots are indeed the size of the small Haba carrots set, which we also own, but the peas are way off. In Haba play food land, they’d be at least the size of grapes, though they look more like gumballs. Furthermore, the size and shape combined make my throat close off just looking at them. They really just scream choking hazard. I think the danger they pose would warrant extra caution even with a child older than the recommended age.

Because I hated to put these away until my kids were too old to care for them anyway, I drilled holes in each piece and strung them together onto high tensile nylon cord into a couple ‘play food bracelets’. They look really cool, pieces will no longer get lost, and I believe they’re much safer this way.

Fun in the kitchen

written about 2 years ago

My son has a wooden kitchen set and I purchased this product to help encourage pretend play. It worked wonderful. He cooks, stirs, sorts and counts the veggies. I was nervous about him putting them in his mouth, but so far he has not even attempted it. Would not purchase for smaller kids—could be choking hazard.
