About Estia

ESTIA Holzspielwaren is a toy company established in 1995 by a German couple. They initially intended to produce reasonably priced, exquisitely carved wooden toys for the markets at their neighboring towns.

As fate would have it, the venture was a big success at the markets and the couple soon decided to create their own designs and to approach retailers with the finished products.

Estia toys can now be found all over Europe, USA and Canada.

Big and sturdy

written 3 months ago

This corn is not the bright yellow of my computer screen, but rather an orangey yellow. The color does not matter to me, but the well crafted grooves and softly tapered edges make this corn a wonderful addition to my 2 1/2 year old’s kitchen. It is slightly bigger than my other Haba foods, but that seems to work fine for my daughter. She enjoys playing with it often.

Perfect Ear of Corn

written 10 months ago

None of the wooden play food sets come with an ear of corn, and my daughter’s heart was set on having one. The Estia corn is exactly 4" tall (about 1.5" in diameter at widest point), which is the perfect size; just a little larger than her other Plan Toys and Hape play foods – just like a real ear of corn. The color is more maize than is pictured, and just lovely.

A great addition to any wooden play kitchen set!

Very realistic corn

written over 1 year ago

We bought this along with several other food pieces and this one is among my boys’ favorites. I think both the color and texture make this a great piece of play food. My one-year-old rolls it between his hands and my three-year-old really uses it as play corn.
