This clip does not open with a simple pinch – which a child might be able to manage. The wooden circle first needs to be flipped back and then the clip can be pinched open. (It took my husband and me a moment to figure this out.) The only way a child would be able to remove the clip is by sheer force. (My 9 month old son is able to yank it off if he really tries.) Anything you’d like to clip needs to be able to be strung through the tiny metal loop (or through the wooden holes?).
