Extremely durable and played with often

I can’t remember when we got this truck exactly, but it took quite the beating. My kids and daycare kids played with it non-stop. It carted around blocks, dishes, cars, you name it. They even sat in it a few times! I was really pleasantly surprised at how well and how long it held up. Wasn’t until my son lifted the truck bed part and tried to sit in the middle that it jammed. I’d recommend these in a heartbeat for toughest players!

Cool Truck for kids

My one year old daughter got this on her birthday. We all love it! It is durable and well made, just like all the other Green Toys. We own most of their product line. Our daughter likes to fill the bed with everything and dump it out again. It’s not really an outdoor toy because the wheels are really all terrain. Maybe in the sandbox would be okay though.

Cool Truck; Poorly Designed Wheels

My daughter saved her allowance for this truck. In fact we bought two – the other as a gift for our friends’ son.

Let me say first: I love Green Toys. I love that they are a US-based company that recycles and makes really cool simple toys that are 100% safe. And I love the classic chunky-style of this dump truck.

However, the wheels don’t roll on hardwood floors (our house is all hardwood floors, save for a couple area rugs). It’s a notch better on the rugs, and outdoors in the grass. The wheels still seem reluctant to turn, even on terrain they can grip on. This seems like such an obvious design flaw.

However, my daughter doesn’t seem to mind terribly sliding it around indoors. It gets the most use in the sandbox anyway.

I guess if I had to buy it again I probably would. Who knows, we might add the recycle truck to the collection despite the fact I suspect it would have the same flaw. Hopefully Green Toys will fix this flaw for future batches of these trucks.
