Teach your child visual tracking skills, fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination; introduces the concepts of shape and color recognition as well as problem solving skills.

Extension Activities

  • Ask the child to identify the shape and color of each bead, and the color of the components of the bead maze.
  • Identify a color and/or shape of bead and ask the child to move it along the entire length of wire.
  • Ask the child to give you directions on how to move specific bead along the entire length of wire.
  • Encourage beginning counting skills by asking the child to count the individual beads as you move them along. Then ask the child to count a specific shape or color bead. For example: “How many green beads do you see?”
  • Ask the child to predict the result of each of the activity mechanisms on the Bead Maze. For example: “What will pressing down on the red paddle do?”
